INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY~Ghosts of Autumn Vanished: Kathy Gloddy and Melanie Melanson

REMINDER~TONIGHT SEPTEMBER 16TH 2013~ INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY AT 9:00 PM

Investigation Discovery will re-broadcast the 20/20 airing of Vanished: Ghost of Autumn on September 16th, 2013 at 9:00 pm.  The story will run again on September 17th, 2013 at 12:00 am.  All times are ET/PT

This 20/20 episode covered the murders of Melanie Melanson from Massachusetts and my sister Kathy Gloddy from New Hampshire.  As someone that continues to seek answers, I know how important it is to keep our loved one’s story in the media.  It is advantageous in producing new information and leads in cold cases.

  1. Hello Ken,

I know of Debbie’s case and I’m sorry for this tragedy in your life. Debbie’s murder was in 1969 and Kathy’s in 1971. Debbie was eleven and Kathy thirteen. I did a series recently on some of the things families can do to bring attention to their cold case. These are suggestions from over forty years of experience dealing with law enforcement and the media. I would like to email you privately to see if there is anything else I can help you with. Should I email you at the address above?

Again, I’m so sorry that you never had the chance to know Debbie as an adult.

  2. Kathy, I recently watched an episode of Unsolved Mysteries and there was a NH segment on the show from the Keene, NH area about several young women who went missing and were found murdered, and also one from Vermont. One of the victims was able to somehow get away (amazing story) and she did a sketch, and the NH state police also had a forensic profiler come to NH for those cases. Have you heard of this in your work on behalf of your sister? It really reminded me of her case and made me wonder if they were connected. It happened around the same time period as well. 3. Hi Carolee,
I did not see that episode on Unsolved Mysteries. I do know of those murders. It seems they died of multiple stab wounds which is not the cause of death in Kathy’s murder. Thank you Carollee for staying in contact with me.
